First Group run is Saturday, April 6th @ 3:45 pm
 

 

Pre-season Group runs:

 

Saturday April 6 at 3:45 pm

Sunday April 7 at 11:45 am

Saturday April 13 at 3:45 pm

Sunday April 14 at 11:45 am

Saturday April 20 at 3:45 pm

Sunday April 21 at 11:45 am

Saturday May 4 at 3:45 pm

Sunday May 5 at 11:45 pm

Saturday May 11 at 3:45 pm

   

All athletes are expected to attend at least 1 group run per week and to run on their own. Parents/guardians are to sign off that the total running times have been completed.

We have a 2 week pool break from May 13-May 26. Athletes are expected to keep up with running during this time!

At home running expectations (weekly total)

  • 6 and under:  20 minutes (~ 2-3 k)
  • 7-8: 28 minutes (~ 3-4 k)
  • 9-11: 35 minutes (~4.5-6 k)
  • 12-13: 45 minutes (~6-8 k)
  • 14 and over: 55 minutes (~8-10 k)

These times represent MINIMUMS.

All 13 and under athletes are encouraged to do NO MORE than twice the minimum standard during weekly ‘at home’ runs.

Parents and athletes are asked to record only total RUNNING time – not total session time.

1 running minute = 1 minute of actual running

e.g: A 15 minute session of run 1 minute/walk 4 minutes = 3 minutes of running
A 30 min walk-run session of 1 minute running/2 minutes walking = 10 minutes of running
A 1 hour track session with a 15 minute warm up run and 4 x 800 intervals and a 10 minute easy run cool down = 37 minutes running
A 15 minute easy run = 15 minutes of running
